In addition, we got to see a few more games that will be compatible with the PS5 Pro, which is scheduled for release in November. PlayStation fans, September’s State of Play was huge, so there are a lot of things to remember. To help, we’ve rounded up everything announced during this State of Play.
Astro Bot is getting a major update this fall
We discovered that Team Asobi’s beloved Astro Bot will be receiving a big update to begin the State of Play. Ten new bots based on titles like Stellar Blade and Helldivers 2 will be included, along with five new online speedrun levels. This new Astro Bot content will be available for free on the PS5 at some point this autumn.
Palworld is out now on PS5
Early this year, Palworld—which debuted on PC and Xbox Series X/S—became a viral hit. That occurred as a result of the game’s combination of typical survival game elements—such as its extreme violence—and the adorable creature-collecting aspects of Pokemon. Given that developer Pocketpair is being sued by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, it might even be a little too similar to Pokemon. Despite this, they are still working to expand Palworld’s reach; it was unexpectedly released on the PS5 during tonight’s State of Play.
Monster Hunter Wilds is out next February
During this State of Play, a new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds was released. It revealed a new biome resembling a jungle, additional story cutscenes, and some frightening new monsters that players will have to defeat in the game, such as the White Wraith. Additionally, Monster Hunter Wilds was the first game we saw Felynes in action. Most notably, a release date for this eagerly anticipated Capcom game was finally announced. Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28, 2025.
Lego Horizon Adventures is out in November
Lego Horizon Adventures was revealed in June, but still had no release date. That all changed today with the release of a new trailer confirming that Lego Horizon Adventures will launch on November 14 for the PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. That corresponds with a release date for the game that was previously leaked. The game’s central idea was reiterated in the new trailer: it is a kid-friendly, Lego-fied retelling of Horizon Zero Dawn’s story that does not hesitate to defy convention by dressing up as Ratchet & Clank or Sackboy from other PlayStation games.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is launching sooner than you think
An ESRB listing earlier this month made Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered known. This is a remastering of a best-selling PS4 game for Sony’s current platform, emulating similar treatments for the two The Last of Us games. The reveal trailer showcases the enhanced graphics and over 10 hours of rerecorded dialogue. Remastered Horizon Zero Dawn will be out on October 31, which is a lot sooner than anticipated. It will be playable on both PC and PS5, costing just $10 for owners of the original.
Ghost of Yōtei is Sucker Punch Productions’ next game
Last but not least, Sucker Punch Productions shocked us all by revealing Ghost of Yōtei, a follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2020 Ghost of Tsushima. Set in the year 1603, hundreds of years after the events of the first Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei is shaping up to be very much like its predecessor, with stunning scenery and industry-leading visuals. Ghost of Yōtei will be released exclusively for PS5 sometime in 2025.
