“She’s delicious, she’s evil, she’s magical, I got to sing all these different songs — it was incredible,” the “Wonder Woman” star said at D23.
Disney debuted the first teaser for the live-action Snow White remake at the D23 fan event on Friday in Anaheim, California. It gives us our first look at Wonder Woman star Zoe Saldana as the evil monarch. “Who is the fairest of all, according to the magic mirror on the wall?” Says Gadot in the teaser.
As is tradition for the latest batch of Disney live-action remakes, Gadot’s look is unsurprisingly faithful to the design of the character in the original 1937 movie, which was Disney’s first feature-length animation project. The live-action Evil Queen has a tall, pointy crown, a headpiece that conceals her hair, and a purple dress with long, billowy sleeves.
Gadot talked about her role as the antagonist at D23. She remarked during a panel, “It was a lot of fun to get to do something completely different than anything I have ever done before.” “It was amazing, I got to sing all these different songs, and she is delicious, evil, and magical.”
More glimpses of the dwarfs are shown in the film, first as their silhouettes are seen walking to (or from?) their work in the mines, and then Doc, Grumpy, Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Bashful, and Dopey can be clearly seen dancing with Snow White in their cottage.
Naturally, Rachel Zegler, who plays the title princess in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and West Side Story, is the true star of the teaser. Zegler takes us on a journey through a forest, singing “Whistle While You Work,” staring longingly into a well, and eventually coming face to face with a friendly deer (hopefully not a Bambi crossover, but you can never rule these things out at this point). He is also attacked by a moving tree.

Zegler gushed about being able to portray the first princess of Disney. She remarked, “It is just been the honor of a lifetime.” “It is the most amazing experience, and I can not wait to share it with all of you,” the actress said. “Any young person, any little girl, gets to put on a Disney princess dress and be her for a day, let alone six months in London on these incredible sets in a dress designed by Sandy Powell.”
The film concludes with Snow White being presented with a lethal red apple by a gnarled hand that appears to be Gadot’s after she has transformed. This time, perhaps, she will not eat it!
Snow White hits theaters March 21, 2025. Watch the full teaser above.
